Located on the shores of Lake Wendouree and with about a kilometre of single track with a single crossing loop, and a 7 road shed, the museum has a collection of trams representing those used on the Victorian provincial tramways |

First day of VLocity operations - Ballarat line launchDecember 22, 2005 18:28 PM
December 22nd 2005 was the entry of V/Line's new VLocity trains into revenue service. I managed to catch the 1406 service to Ballarat, and the 1629 service from Ballarat. In this collection I've got pictures of the VLocity arriving at Southern Cross Station, for the first time with paying passengers on board, as well as the services that I travelled on. |

El Zorro took CFCLA liveried T369 out light engine from Dynon to Ballarat to pick up a refurbished Hitachi set from Alstom's North Ballarat Workshops. The set was 23M-2007T-233M + 9M-1919T-144M and was taken to Newport Workshops |

Mildura freightJuly 12, 2010 15:38 PM
The Mildura freight runs from Merbein (just north of the town) to Melbourne and return for Wakefield Transport. The train is made up of standard and refrigerated containers, as well as a small amount of cement loading. Until recent years oil tankers, louvred vans and LCL containers were also attached to the train. |

On May 25 the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre ran a special train from Seymour to Melbourne to Ballarat and return. New V/Line liveried locomotive N468 took the train of blue S cars |

V/Line services to Maryborough were officially launched on Saturday July 24, with VLocities VL34 and VL38 running special trains on the day, and Premier John Brumby and Public Transport Minister Martin Pakula there for the opening ceremonies. |

T357 hauled 6 car XTrapolis 893M/894M and 955M/956M from Newport Workshops to the United Group workshops at Ballarat, a GVDY guards van with generator also went along to power the auxiliaries of the suburban set. T357 and Y145 had brought the van to Melbourne the night before |

XTrapolis transfer - February 2010February 28, 2010 21:27 PM
T413 transferred brand new XTrapolis set 5M-1303T-6M and 7M-1304T-8M from Ballarat to Newport. So new that it had no identifying marks (other than 'unit 3' and 'unit 4' taped in the windows) the set had been taken directly from the docks to Alstom Ballarat to fix up the floor, the interior fitout was also carried out. |
