707 Operations - Ballarat driver training, October 2021

On Saturday 2 October 2021 707 Operations' recently overhauled steam locomotive R707 headed from Melbourne to Ballarat and return on a driver training run, hauling V/Line carriage sets SH29 and LH32. R707 had been out of service for almost two years, to allow the replacement of the main internal steam pipe, regulator adjustments and repair, fitting of new element tubes and ash pan replacement.

On 7 April 2021 the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre ran a charter train from Melbourne to Warrnambool on behalf of Captain's Choice tours, who were running a six day regional Victoria and silo art tour. The train was stabled the night before at McIntyre, running via the GEB silos at Sunshine.

On 27 March 2021 the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre ran a charter train from Warrnambool to Melbourne on behalf of Captain's Choice tours, who were running a six day regional Victoria and silo art tour. The train was transferred the night before via Melbourne Yard and Sunshine.

On 21 March 2021 Y112 was finally able to lead the 'whY not Suburban Tour' that was first attempted back in 2019. Timetabled to run from Newport via the goods lines to Southern Cross Station, Sunshine, Somerton, Essendon and Westall, the down leg to Sunshine via the Bunbury Street Tunnel was dropped for an express run via the suburban tracks due to late running, and issues with Y112 saw the leg from Somerton to Westall dropped for a direct return to Newport via the goods lines. T356 then took the over train from Newport to Southern Cross and return.

Heritage A class locomotive transfers 2020

On 6 June 2020 V/Line heritage allocated locomotives were collected from South Dynon by their new owners - A60 to the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre and A62 to 707 Operations. Both locomotives needed to be transferred between passenger carriages due to the lack of working brake equipment.

On 17 November 2019 T356 led the 'whY not Suburban Tour' from Southern Cross Station to Somerton and Werribee via Sunshine, Essendon and the Bunbury Street Tunnel. Originally intended to be hauled by Y class steam locomotive Y112, it was a late scratching due to mechanical problems. The train was made up of carriages 600BK, 14BRS, 17BE, 25BE, 7ABE and 1BCE.
