Comeng scrapping transfer, 6 May 2022

In the early hours of 6 May 2022 SSR locomotives T385, T386 and T381 lead burnt out Comeng set 491M-1096T-492M and 339M-1020T-340M from storage at North Shore to the McConnell Dowell yard at McIntyre for scrapping. Due to the fire damage to carriage 492M, the push-pull transfer traveled at a maximum speed of 30 km/h for the entire trip, travelling via Werribee, Newport and Sunshine.
