Steamrail - Geelong March 2008

V/Line's P18 was the loco with a mix of steel and wooden carriages. The hired loco was used because of signalling issues on the Geelong line preventing any non-TPWS fitted locomotives from using the line while normal passenger services were also running

On November 10, 2013 Steamrail ran a 'Rail and Sail' trip to Geelong and back. With the sail part of the train cancelled due to weather, the train was built up to 11 carriages to carry the additional passengers.

Steamrail - Last Steam to Albury 2008

Steamrail ran their 'Last Steam to Albury' tour on June 14, 2008 with R761 up front, with D3 658 assisting to Seymour. The photos are from Heathcote Junction in the morning all the way until the eventual 2 am cancellation at Seymour. It left late, lost it's path, arrived late at Albury, got put away at Wangaratta for 2 hours, and almost made it back to Seymour when it came to a halt. The train crawled into Seymour at 2 am and was cancelled due to a lack of signallers along the line, the passengers travelling onward on buses. By 3:30 am they well all gone, the carriages stabled in the yard, the loco places in the SRHC depot where their fires were dropped.

Steamrail - Maldon Experience, October 2013

On October 26, 2013 Steamrail Victoria ran a through train from Southern Cross to Maldon, swapping locomotives at Castlemaine and Maldon. R761 and K190 led the down trip, with J515 replacing the R class on the branch. With a number of photostops along the way, J515 swapped with J549 at Muckleford, with the return trip from Maldon using J549 and D3 639. R761 and D3 639 took the train back to Melbourne, the swapping over the K and D3 being the original reason for the trip.

On September 26, 2015 Steamrail Victoria ran a members special from Newport Workshops to Maldon and return, via Castlemaine and Southern Cross. R711 and K153 ran the train, with K153 being left at Maldon for use over the summer period at the Victorian Goldfields Railway.

On February 28, 2009 Steamrail ran a 'Suburban Mystery Rambler' tour around Melbourne. Starting at Newport it ran via the goods lines to Tottenham and South Kensington, then to Ashburton, back to South Kensington where it went along the goods lines to Albion and Broadmeadows, and finally to Flinders Street, Frankston and Stony Point. From there it went back through Flinders Street to Sunshine, then via Brooklyn to Newport. T395 and T356 were the locomotives, top and tailing 5 cars.

On March 9, 2013 Steamrail ran a a 11 car train from Melbourne to Tocumwal and return with locomotives S303 and S313. The entire down trip was a few hours late, the train having been timetabled by V/Line into platform 3 at Southern Cross where two S classes cannot fit! After all of the extra shunting was required, V/Line decided that a 40 minute window before the down Shepparton departed was not enough, so we got held until their departure at 0914.

On April 27, 2013 Steamrail ran a 'Western Rambler' tour, with K153 leading T413. It ran from Newport to Sunbury via Sunshine, on to Southern Cross via Brooklyn and the Bunbury Street tunnel, up to Broadmeadows, back to Southern Cross then to Flemington Racecourse, and finally up to Upfield then back to Newport.

Steamrail - Wycheproof Weekender October 2008

Steamrail ran a weekender tour from Melbourne to Wycheproof, leaving on Friday night with R761, T356 and S301 and arriving on Saturday morning. The train stabled at Wycheproof station, with S301 taking the train home on Sunday. The train ran early until Maryborough, where it had to wait for the proper departure time. It ran back via the straight, the photos are from Sunday, between Wycheproof and Bacchus Marsh.

T356, Y112 and D3 639 ran shuttles around Geelong on April 16th and 17th. The diesel was only used on the first morning, Y112 having run light engine from Ballarat for the occasion.

Sydney Tramway Museum

Located south of Sydney at Loftus, the museum has an extensive collection of trams from Sydney, other cities in Australia, plus a few from elsewhere in the world. It operates two lengths of track: one heading 1.5 km towards Sutherland, the other heading 2 km into the Royal National Park.

TMSV - Footscray tour 2012

On March 24, 2012 the Tramway Museum Society Of Victoria chartered Z3.185 in the Royal Tram livery to run a tram to commemorate the closure of the Footscray tramways.

The route was Brunswick Depot > Lygon Street > Franklin Street > Victoria Street > Royal Park > Showgrounds Loop > Footscray > Moonee Ponds > West Maribyrnong > Ascot Vale > Haymarket > Flagstaff Station > Footscray Road > Melbourne Central Station > Franklin Street > Victoria Street> Sydney Road > Brunswick Depot.

On Saturday 24th of June 2006, Matt Julian organised a farewell tour for the BS carriages, by chartering the last remaining BS car, BS217, to be attached to the regular Swan Hill passenger train.

V/Line once had a special fleet of carriages that could be hired out and attached to ordinary services, including Club Car Victoria and Parlor Car Norman. Carriages managed by heritage operators have also appeared on special trains. Workshops Rail Museum

April 13, 2015

Located in the former Queensland Rail railway workshops at Ipswich, the Workshops Rail Museum houses a vast collection of railway related displays, as well as an adjoining workshop for the maintenance and restoration of the QR heritage fleet.

Yarra Valley Tourist Railway

The Yarra Valley Tourist Railway operates out of Healesville, and are progressivly restoring the railway line back to Yarra Glen, Coldstream and Lilydale.

Z class 'Ruby Jubilee' tour

On November 14, 2015 trams Z1.22 and Z2.101 travelled around Melbourne to celebrate 40 years of Z class trams in Melbourne. The tour commenced at Malvern Depot and visited St Kilda Road, Brunswick Depot, West Maribyrnong, Moonee Ponds, Melbourne Docklands, and a lunch break at Hawthorn Depot. Followed by travel to East Preston, Preston Depot, St Kilda, East Malvern, then returning to Malvern Depot.
