Melbourne Steel Terminal

Opened in 1995 west of North Melbourne Station, next to Footscray Road, the terminal was where steel products were once transshipped from broad to standard gauge trains for the journey down to the BlueScope steel mill at Hastings. In 2015 the terminal was closed to make room for the 'E' gate development, with South Dynon taking over the role.

Nothing left at the Melbourne Steel Terminal except bare dirt - it was closed to rail traffic a week earlier
