- Day 8: Lamma Island, MTR Kwun Tong line extension

Back in the saddle!
After two weeks on holiday in Hong Kong I'm finally back online and uploading new photos from back home - you can find my overseas stuff over on my other site, Checkerboard Hill.

It has taken me almost 18 months, but I have finally finished uploading the photographs I took on my 2016 trip to Hong Kong.
My itinerary.

- Day 4: Kowloon and Hong Kong Island
- Day 5: Lamma Island and Tai O

Yet another visit to Hong Kong
Time flies as you get older, and for me it is no different - I've just returned from yet another visit to Hong Kong. This time around my young son was also along for the ride, with twelve days spent visiting family and sightseeing around Hong Kong, plus a short stopover on the way back home from somewhere else.
I still managed to visit a number of new places in Hong Kong - the village of Tai O on Lantau Island, Shek O beach on Hong Kong Island, a visit to the quiet island of Peng Chau, and a night spent in a hotel overlooking Hong (...)
Photos from my 2013 trip to China
It has taken me almost two years, but I have finally finished uploading the photographs I took on my 2013 trip to China.
I spent a week on the 'mainland' visiting the cities of Shanghai, Beijing and Xi'an:
- Day 1: arrive into Shanghai from Melbourne, riding the Maglev from Pudong Airport, and checking out The Bund.
- Day 2: Visiting Pudong, riding the Shanghai Metro, inspecting the rubber-tyred Translor tram, and watching mainline trains at Shanghai Railway Station.
- Day 3: Shanghai to Beijing by high-speed train, and exploring the Beijing Metro
- Day 4: Template of Heaven.

Back in late 2012 I spent a month travelling across Europe, passing through six countries, ten cities, three rail gauges and 15 rail operators.

Back from another visit to Hong Kong
It's taken me three years, but I've finally made my way back to Hong Kong, having just returned from a two week visit. I also paid a visit to the mainland, visiting the cities of Shanghai, Beijing and Xian, along with a few journeys on the CRH high speed rail network. My 2010 Hong Kong trip photos: finally complete!
It has taken me almost two years, but I have finally finished uploading the last of my 2010 Hong Kong trip photos to Flickr. Something different: Hong Kong
If you have been following my photo uploads, then you might have noticed a big gap in late November / early December. That was because I was on holiday in Hong Kong!
