Calder Park Sidings
The train stabling yard at Calder Park is located north of Watergardens station. The first stage opened in December 2014 was a three road yard large enough to stable six 6-car trains, with a second stage adding another three sidings in 2015. As part of the High Capacity Metro Train project, a light maintenance facility is also being constructed at the site.

On the morning of July 27, 2011 an up Geelong service operated by Sprinter 7021 ran out of fuel at Footscray station. The passengers were taken off the train, then a 6-car Comeng set led by 372M pushed the Sprinter to Flinders Street Station. One crew were in the front of the disabled Sprinter to sight the signals and controlled the brakes for the combined train, while a second crew drove the Comeng.
