Just another tram versus car, June 2013

12 June 2013

The tram I was on was heading north past peak hour congestion on Flemington Road when I heard a *crunch* - the tram came to a stop, as did the tram behind us. I opened the window and saw a Mercedes with a scratched up front panel pass the tram tooting their horn, while the driver left the cab and went back to talk to the other driver. We caught up to the car at the next set of traffic lights.

Unsafe 'safety' zone in Ascot Vale

14 October 2014

Located on Epsom Road at Flemington Drive in Ascot Vale, stop 30 on route 57 seems to get wiped out by dimwitted drivers a few times a year. Southbound traffic is required to slew sideways to avoid a right turn lane, which seems to be too hard for some drivers, who plow straight into the safety zone fence.

Crumbling station building at Newmarket

5 November 2019

A look at the crumbling citybound station building at Newmarket station on the Craigieburn line, where everything is falling apart. The cantilevered platform verandah was reinforced with acrow props in 2012 and demolished in 2013. As for the piers holding everything up, even bigger acrow props have been installed to counteract the failing concrete piers and beams.
