Where trams turn corners, there are yellow lines painted along the road so that cars know to keep clear. This bloke at the corner of Victoria and Errol Streets in North Melbourne didn't pay attention to them, which resulted in Z3.205 ripping off the rear quarter panel off his van.

On October 21, 2012 Steamrail relaunched steam locomotive R711 into service, hauling a seven car to Bendigo for the 150th anniversary of the line opening. T364 went along push-pull for the empty cars ride between Newport and Southern Cross, reversing at Sunshine due to an occupation on the line via Yarraville

The Connex X'Trapolis EMU fleet required a number of modifications that were carried out at the Ballarat Workshops. Set 925M-1663T-926M + 919M-1660T-920M was transferred from Ballarat to Bayswater (via Geelong) with T377 as the motive power, with power van GVDY 52Y attached to the rear

R707 and R761 lead a 10 car train from Melbourne to Bendigo and return, connecting with a special train on the Victorian Goldfields Railway at Castlemaine. Along the way we were overtaken by a trio of PN locos headed towards Elphinstone to rescue a failed grain train.

On August 26th Steamrail took K153 and K190 along with five carriages up to Hurstbridge to run shuttle trips from there to Eltham for the annual Wattle Festival.

Sydney uses a disparate collection of ticketing systems to collect fare on public transport: uses magstripe tickets, the multi-modal MyZone system covers much of the network, but each mode also issue their own tickets. T-Card was the first attempt at replacing it was a Smartcard system but failed, with the Opal system currently being introduced.

Opened in 1988 as a 3.6 kilometres loop around the Sydney CBD and Darling Harbour, it was initially operated by TNT Harbourlink but is today known as the Metro Monorail. The last day of operations will be 30 June 2013.
Now known as the 'Metro Light Rail', a fleet of 7 Variotrams operate between Central Station and the inner suburb of Lilyfield along the former alignment of the former Darling Harbour Goods Line.

On August 5, 2012 diesel electric railcar RM58 headed from Southern Cross to Colac and return. On the approach to Winchelsea station the train hit a fallen tree which damaged the radiator, but was still able to limp into the station. N474 was sent from Geelong to rescue RM58, taking the railcar back to Newport where it was shunted into the workshops.
Established in 1983 with a single W2 class tram converted into a restaurant, in the years since a number of other trams have joined the fleet that runs around Melbourne every lunch and dinner time. The numbering is as follows: #1 > W2.442, #2 > SW6.937, #3 > SW6.939, #4 > SW6.938, #5 > SW6.964, #6 > SW6.935.
