End to End, Collingwood

Best known for the trio of Hitachi trains located on the rooftop, 'End to End' is a three story development located at 48 Easey Street, Collingwood. Easey's Burgers is located in one of the trains.
Hitachi transfer to Bendigo, May 2018

After a number of failed attempts, on the evening of 22 May 2018 retired Hitachi train 296M + 1994T + 295M was transferred from Newport Workshops to the SSR workshops at Bendigo North behind T386 and T363 running push-pull.

After being withdrawn from service and stored at Macaulay, the final three Hitachi trains were been reactivated and transferred to Newport Workshops awaiting their final fate in September-October 2015.
Farewell Hitachi Train Tour, April 2014

On April 12, 2014 the Elecrail division of Steamrail ran a Farewell Hitachi Train Tour around the Melbourne suburbs with 288M-1979T-287M + 274M-1909T-273M. Starting at Craigieburn, the tour headed into the city via the Northern Loop, out to South Morang via the Clifton Hill Loop, then out to Sunbury and back via the Northern Loop, then finally back to Craigieburn.

At Torrumbarry (on the Murray west of Echuca) are privately owned ex-V/Line diesel locomotive T375 and Hitachi carriages 4M, 97M, 1921T and 133M. There is also a Centurion tank across the road

El Zorro took CFCLA liveried T369 out light engine from Dynon to Ballarat to pick up a refurbished Hitachi set from Alstom's North Ballarat Workshops. The set was 23M-2007T-233M + 9M-1919T-144M and was taken to Newport Workshops

SRHC's T378 took Elecrail Hitachi set 7M-1994T-225M-89M-1946T-99M from Newport to Ballarat Workshops via North Geelong for refurbishment. Here are some shots between Lara and Warrenheip.

After their withdrawal from suburban service in Melbourne, in February 2004 four 3-car Hitachi sets 29M-1972T-214M-25M-1945T-84M-221M-1947T-195M-140M-1936T-155M were transferred to the Bendigo North Workshops and stored unsecured in the open. In 2006 stripped of parts, and with broken windows and covered with graffiti, they were moved back to Melbourne by El Zorro using Y145 and S302 in the middle of the night of August 30th. Here they are upon arrival the next morning at Newport Workshops.
