On Tuesday 4 July 2023 N463 transferred retired V/Line carriage BTN264 from Southern Cross to the SRHC depot at Seymour for preservation.

Southern Aurora Memorial Garden

Located opposite Violet Town station the garden commemorates the crash of the Southern Aurora passenger train in February 1969, and was officially opened on the 10th February 2019. Ex-Southern Aurora carriageĀ NAM 2337 forms part of the display.

On 23 September 2021 recently gauge converted VLocity VS93 departed South Dynon for Seymour on standard gauge, in preparation for testing on the North East line.

Qube Logistics Tocumwal freight

Since 2012 Qube Logistics (formerly P&O Trans Australia) have operated a container service between North Dynon in Melbourne and Tocumwal, with loading also occasionally being attached / removed at Mooroopna (Shepparton).

Pacific National Apex quarry train

The 'Apex' train carries gravel and other quarry products from Kilmore East on the North East line, to Westall in south-eastern Melbourne, Brooklyn in western Melbourne, and North Shore in Geelong. Originally operated by the Victorian Railways, V/Line, Freight Australia then Pacific National, in 2016 Qube Logistics won the contract.

On November 21, 2015 C501 and C510 led a train from Melbourne to Albury and return, using the Steamrail fleet of standard gauge K carriages. Due to Southern Cross only have two standard gauge platforms that are both occupied on Saturday mornings, the train commenced empty cars at South Dynon, then picked up passengers at Broadmeadows station.

The Kerrisdale Mountain Railway is a privately owned two-foot (610 mm) narrow gauge railway that zig-zags up a hill in the Tallarook Ranges outside Seymour.

SRHC ran shuttles north from Seymour with T357 and T413, while Steamrail ran a train from Melbourne to Seymour with R761. After their arrival T413 was replaced on the shuttles by R761.

On January 25, 2009 the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre ran their 'Hills to the Bay' tour from Seymour to Geelong and return via Melbourne Southern Cross, with a sidetrip from Geelong to Melbourne and return. V/Line's N464 'City of Geelong' was the locomotive, with five red 'E' and five blue 'S' carriages in the consist, including the 'Yarra' parlor car, State Car 4, and Dining Car.

In November 2008 the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre ran a special train for the last day of broad gauge operations on the North-East line. The train had V/Line's N453 'City of Albury' with Parlor and Dining Car along with a number of AS and BS sitting cars.

On July 12th the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre ran a special train from Seymour through the Goulburn Valley to Tocumwal. V/Line's N468 and SRHC's T320 were the locomotives, with 10 carriages: 'State 4', four S cars, four E cars and 'Yarra'.

Steamrail - Last Steam to Albury 2008

Steamrail ran their 'Last Steam to Albury' tour on June 14, 2008 with R761 up front, with D3 658 assisting to Seymour. The photos are from Heathcote Junction in the morning all the way until the eventual 2 am cancellation at Seymour. It left late, lost it's path, arrived late at Albury, got put away at Wangaratta for 2 hours, and almost made it back to Seymour when it came to a halt. The train crawled into Seymour at 2 am and was cancelled due to a lack of signallers along the line, the passengers travelling onward on buses. By 3:30 am they well all gone, the carriages stabled in the yard, the loco places in the SRHC depot where their fires were dropped.

SRHC - Spirit of Progress 70th Anniversary Tour 2007

The Seymour Railway Heritage Centre operated a Spirit of Progress 70th Anniversary Tour, with locomotives B74 and S303 used along with the majority of the original carriage consist. The train ran from Seymour to Albury and return via Southern Cross Station, with a side trip from Albury to the turntable at Wodonga to turn Parlor Car and the locomotives.

The Seymour Railway Heritage Centre ran train rides behind behind T357 and T320 for the "Tastes of the Goulburn" festival at Seymour. Some shuttles ran to Avenel while others went just past Mangalore
