Sorrento steam tramway

Opened in 1890 to serve the tourist market in Sorrento, this double track 3'6" (1067mm) narrow gauge tramway lead from the main pier beside the front beach, to a terminus one mile 12 chains away at the back beach. Two 0-4-0ST steam locomotives provided the service, which operated until 1921.
