On April 29 Steamrail ran a shuttle train between Williamstown and Flinders Street Station for the 2012 Williamstown Festival. K153 and K190 were used push-pull with a five car train, running four return trips.

Steamrail - Wycheproof Weekender October 2008

Steamrail ran a weekender tour from Melbourne to Wycheproof, leaving on Friday night with R761, T356 and S301 and arriving on Saturday morning. The train stabled at Wycheproof station, with S301 taking the train home on Sunday. The train ran early until Maryborough, where it had to wait for the proper departure time. It ran back via the straight, the photos are from Sunday, between Wycheproof and Bacchus Marsh.

On 21 and 22 August 2010 Steamrail ran steam shuttles out of Ballarat along the line to Maryborough, using K153 and Y112 push-pull on a rake of timber bodied BW carriages.

T356, Y112 and D3 639 ran shuttles around Geelong on April 16th and 17th. The diesel was only used on the first morning, Y112 having run light engine from Ballarat for the occasion.

On 9 June 2022 heritage steam locomotive Y112 returned from Geelong to Newport with open wagon VOAF 9. The train had been stuck in Geelong for repairs after running into trouble after a weekend running shuttles at the Ballarat Heritage Weekend.
