Victoria Police shut down public transport to inner Melbourne

On 18 September 2021 Victoria Police requested the shutdown of all public transport to the Melbourne CBD between 8am and 2pm, an attempt to disrupt a planned anti-lockdown protest. Train, tram and bus services all terminated far beyond the inner city, with a token 'Authorised Worker Shuttle' bus service running every 30 minutes express from the terminating locations to the Melbourne CBD. The remainder of the rail network was left without any alternative services.
